About World’s End, Sri Lanka
A deep cliff, with a drop of 4,000 feet! Excited? Yes, the World’s End is the place where you can literally see the end of the world. Located in Horton Plains National Park of Nuwara Eliya is a key tourist attraction site in Sri Lanka. Located about 1 km away from the main cliff is another cliff known as “Small World’s End” with a drop of 1,000 ft.
The view from this spot if obviously mind blowing but you need to reach here early or everything is covered by a mist. The best time is before 9 am, when you can spy the toy-town, the beautiful tea plantation villages and the view of almost the entire area which will leave you mesmerized.
The interesting thing about this place is the weather which can change within minutes. One moment it is bright and sunny and the next moment it can be chilly and misty. You need to be very careful around the edges since there are no security rails here.
This place is worth a visit, if only for its sheer panoramic view!
