About Galway’s Land National Park
Often touted as Sri Lanka’s newest national park, the Galway’s Land National Park is located within the city limits of Nuwara Eliya. It is a very significant bird watching site since it houses almost 20 very rare migrant birds and 30 native species. This is a dense patch of mountain forest and is renowned for its birdlife as well as plant and animal life.
It was previously known as a wildlife sanctuary and was declared a national park in 2006. It is a very experience to talk around this park with its lush green trees and beautifully blooming flowers. This place thus holds great attraction for the locals and the tourists alike. It is home to a wide variety of bird species which includes both native species as well as foreign varieties. You can easily spot birds flying around or just nesting and feeding their young ones.
