About Rajpuri Caves
Around 9 kilometers away from Panchgani, Rajpuri Caves bordered by ponds have towering sacred value. It is believed that these caves were used by Lord Kartikeya for holy ceremonies and penance. It is also believed that the Pandavas were protected by these caves during the period of their exile. Upon entering the caves one can observe rock plates with beautiful inscriptions written on them. The tourists mostly come to Rajpuri to visit the holy shrine of Karthikeya in one of the four caves. The place is frequently swarming with sightseers from October to May.
