About Badshahi Bagh Gurudwara, Ambala
Situated near the District Court of Ambala City, Badshahi Bagh Gurudwara is a central worship place for the Sikhs. This shrine is dedicated to the tenth Sikh spiritual leader, Sri Guru Gobind Singh, who had made a brief halt in Ambala in 1670 and was on his way to meet his maternal grandparents. He was merely eight years old and legend suggests that he had a won a challenge against a man called Amir Din. The documentation of the Gurudwara’s founding is still ambiguous but the shrine was destroyed in 1857 by the British Military and after that was re-erected by Saint Gurmukh of Patiala in 1931. It was re-established built by Sardar Mehar Singh of Nishananwali Misl once before the British assault. Every year there is a splendid celebration of Baisakhi, strengthening the sense of spirituality and community amongst devotees.
