About Pavuralakonda
Pavuralakonda, which means "Hills of Pigeons", is an interesting tourist spot near Visakhapatnam. The place is also termed as Narasimhaswamy Konda. The hillock is nearly 168 m above sea level and spreads across nearly 10 – 12 acres of land. The items which are excavated in this site date back to 3rd century B.C to 2nd Century B.C. Tourists can check out beautiful rock cut cisterns, viharas foundations, circular chaityagrihas, consecrate stupas etc in Pavuralakonda. Nearby the hillock flows the River Gosthani which once served the navigation channel for trading in early centuries of Christian Era.
