About Crank's Ridge
Crank’s Ridge, or Hippie Hill Hill is a place where the 1960’s live on. During the 1960’s this place gained a reputation as a ‘power center’. Since then it has been popular with a western alternative crowd. The writer D.H. Lawrence spent two summers at this place. Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens also visited. In the summer, natural forest fires take place in the valley below. Travelers and backpackers gather at local cafes.
