About Kathgodam
Kathgodam, literally meaning Timber Depot, is the last station of Indian Railways towards the Kumaon region. From here on one must travel by road to reach the Kumaon region. Nearby attractions for Kathgodam include a dam on the Gola river, the beautifully made Sheetala Devi and the Kaalichaud temples and Hairakhan ashram. Many treks originate and end at Kathgodam as trekkers and travelers usually take a train till here and then travel via road.
