About Sri Lanka Air Force Museum
Sri Lanka Air Force Museum (SLAFM) holds the honour of being the only national Air Force Museum that not only displays the magnificent Air fighters but also share the history of aviation in Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF). This Museum is under the authorities of SLAF and is located at the SLAF Ratmalana. Apart from the fighter planes, several valuables objects like medals, swords of Air vice Marshal E.R Amarasekara are showcased.
Sri Lanka Air Force Museum also it houses the leavings of the Japanese aircraft that was shot over Ceylon during World War 2 and the remains of LTTE aircraft that was successfully shot down which targeted a dangerous attack on Colombo. Some of the aircrafts that are part of this Museum include Wetland Dragonify, Airspeed Oxford, Hawker Siddeley HS 748 etc., and some of the planes displaced here can still fly. Witness the history of the wars narrated in the remains of these planes, and refill your knowledge about Sri Lanka Air Force at this place.
