About Kathmandu Durbar Square
The Kathmandu Durbar Square is built in front of the old royal palace of the former Kathmandu Kingdom. It loosely consists of 3 main durbar squares. At the entrance of the durbar square you will be met by an enormous statue of Hanuman‐ the monkey devotee of Lord Ram. This place is surrounded with eye‐catching architecture and vividly presents the skills of the Newar artists and craftsmen over several centuries.
Although majority of the durbar square collapsed because of the earthquakes but this place is still worth seeing.
