About Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary
Located off the Pune-Solapur Highway, and about 80 KMs from Pune, lies this inconspicuous Mayureshwar Wildlife Sanctuary spread across 15 sq. kms. and consisting of flora and fauna native to the deciduous forest around. Chinkaras, Indian fox, Indian wolf and hyenas are seen frequently. The Chinkaras here are constantly growing in number and can easily be spotted. Day tours are convenient and affordable.
It’s advisable to take food items and water along with you. There are watch towers scattered all through the sanctuary which can be climbed to get a good view of animals.
Entry fee is Rs. 30 per person and there a camera fee too.
