The 'hill of hidden paradise', Pelling undoubtedly holds a very special place on the tourism map of mystic-land India. located at a distance of 3 kilometers from the holy town, Pemeyangtse, this little town is a perpetual beholder of almost the entire range of Kanchenjunga. Pelling is divided into 'upper', 'middle; and 'lower' Pelling. The town is devoid of a 'mall area'. However the helipad in Upper-Pelling is often deemed as the mall given that its always in a state of activity. The huge football ground near the old helipad in upper Pelling adds value to this part as the essential heart of the town. This section, like the heart, throbs with life and laughter along with a fabulous view teemed with an inevitable feeling of pleasure and peace.
4 kilometers towards the west of the helipad lies 'the place of secret spells', at an elevation of 1000 feet above Pelling, the Sanga Choeling monastery. This place has a most exquisite view of the range and the tip of the popular rhododendron sanctuary, Varsey. It gives way to a mountain river whereby the Rimki hydel project is based. Standing at an elevation of 1820 meters, the forever leafless water-body is surrounded by a sea of prayer flags all around. The Kanchenjunga Falls lies at a distance of 29 kilometers from Pelling. Flowing through the cleft of 2 hills, it is said to reflect the seven colours of the rainbow which has earned it the alternative name of Rainbow Falls.
