About Dindigul Fort
Dindigul Fort was built in 1605 by the Madurai Nayak kings. It was later an important fort during the Tipu Sultan reign. During the Poylgar wars the fort was lost to the British. The fort stands on top of a hill that is thought to resemble a pillow. Made of granite, it is of yellow and red appearance. The top of the hill is 900 feet above ground.
