About Mustafa Castle
Built in memorial to the poet and critic, Mustafa Khan. Mustafa Khan was something of an agitator and eventually, a dissident, when the British were the administrative power in India. A man of letters, he found himself in trouble after the British regained Delhi in 1857. He was tried for inciting an uprising, and was imprisoned on this site, which was eventually converted into this complex. Its inspiration is partly British, partly Indian and the castle houses many rare and valuable artifacts.
