About Moti Mahal
Located on the banks of Gomti River, nearby Hazartganj, Moti Mahal is often termed as “Pearl Palace”. Nawab Sadaat Ali Khan constructed this palace in the end of 17th century. From this Palace, the royal watched over the animal fights which are organized on other bank of Gomti River. The edifice of the Palace was constructed in such a way that the activities of enemies can be monitored easily. Also the verandahs are wide enough which suits the bird watching. The other famous buildings on either side of Moti Mahal are “Shah Manzil” and “Mubarak Manzil” which were established by Nawab Ghazi-ud-din Haider in later ages. At present Government offices functions from here and its lawns are used for organizing functions.
