The palace has three main segments namely Sadar Mahal Palace, Queen’s Courtyard, and the Durbar Hall. Tourists can see amazing paint works on the ceilings of Durbar Hall. The pillars of Durbar Hall are beautifully painted in colors. The Memorial hall of King Serfoji and the Royal palace museum are located within the Sadar Mahal Premises. Tourists can see a huge collection (60000) of Palm leaf Manuscripts in Saraswathi Mahal Library which is located within the Palace Compass. These manuscripts are written in Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Persian, Devanagari etc. Most of the scripts are preserved in microfilms.
