About Damdama Sahib
The word “Damdama” means “Breathing Place”. Damdama Shahib is one of the five Takhts (Seat of Temporal Authority of Sikh). It was in Damdama Shahib, the Sikh Scriptures called Shri Guru Granth Shahib was written by 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh. This Takht is located in the Talwandi Sabo.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji stayed here after fighting in the war against the arrogance of Mughal Empire. Guru Gobind Singh Ji announced Talwandi Sabo as “Guru Ki Kashi”. A Gurudwara was established to honor the Guru. Also Guru Gobind Ji conducted as test for very young Bhai Dalla’s guts and courage and brought into the Khalsa. The place serves as learning center for Sikhism.
