About Suryanar Temple
The Suriyanar temple is dedicated to Sun God. The main Gopuram is 15 meter high with three stories. With this temple as center all other Navagraha Temples are located on various places around the Suriyanar Temple. The sanctum sanctorum has Sun God along with his consort Usha and Chayadevi facing west. Outside the temple you can have a dip in holy tank called Surya Pushkarini. As per inscriptions found in temple, the temple belongs to 11th century built by King Kulothunga Chola I of Chola Dynasty.
