Pathiramanal Island , Alleppey
About Pathiramanal Island
Accessible only by boat, the Pathiramanal Island is a good rest point while boating and a paradise for birdspotting. A young Brahmin dived into the lake to perform his evening ablutions. From the bottom of the lake, land sprung up and formed Pathiramanal Island or 'Sands of Midnight'. So goes the legend, the reality of the lake is there for tourists to see today.
You can take a boat jetty from Muhamma which is 1.5 km or Alapuzha, 13 km away.
