About Thiruparankundram
This temple is worshipped by Hindus and Muslims alike. It is dedicated to the Lord Subramanya, and there is a Muslim shrine here too, dedicated to Sekunder. From the outside the temple is impressive, and the innermost shrine is carved out of pure rock. In March and April there is a 14-day festival held here to commemorate Lord Murugan’s victory over the demon Suran.
