About Pandavleni Caves
Pandavleni Caves were built by Buddist kings in the periods between the 4th Century BC and the 12 century CE. The site is renowned for its water management system, and Buddist carvings and idols which adorn the caves. It’s possible to visit around 20 caves in all, most connected with carved stone ladders. For the particularly brave, visit the cave at the peak of the Pandavleni mountain where the complex is housed. This takes you to the very peak of the mountain. Not for the fainthearted.
