About Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park situated in foothills of the Himalayas, is compromised by three sanctuaries of Uttaranchal namely Shivaliks-Rajaji, Motichur, and Chila sanctuaries. Rajaji National Park is open from November to June, The park remains closed in the monsoon season.
This wildlife park has Elephants, Leopard, Deers, Tiger and Ghorals as its important life forms. It also prevails as North Western Limit for Asian Elephants. The entire park sprawls across 820.42 sq.km and serves as a starting point for Indo-Gangetic Plains. Nearly 315 bird species and 23 mammals are possessed by this wildlife sanctuary. This national park will never disappoint the nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts and eco-conservationists. Rajaji National Park covers over an area of 820 sq km.
For accomadation there are many Forest Rest Houses within and in surrouding areas of thye park.
