About Lankagama Duwili Ella Falls
The Lankagama Duwili Ella falls is located in the Lankagama Village, Galle district. Falling on the border of Sinharaja Forest it is basically a part of the ‘Hariyawa brooks’ branch. The most intriguing thing about this fall is the hidden cave lying beneath the fall which is 2m in height and 4m in length. This cave is believed to be the resting place of a Brahmin from the older times.
Of the five waterfalls created in the Hariyawa brooks system, the Lankagama falls is one of the last waterfalls. This place is a great experience for the nature lovers and it tends to get a little crowded during the holiday season. The view from this place is spellbinding.
This fall also serves as a trek route since to reach this place you have to walk through dense forests. It is worth trying and is very wonderful experience. It is a great opportunity to see some of Sri Lanka’s beautiful landscapes and experience the animal and bird life from up close!
