About Mullaitivu National Park
Once a home ground for bloody battles, the Mullaitivu National Park was newly converted to a wildlife sanctuary in 2009. The park houses thousands of wild elephants, which were in need of desperate conservation. The natural habitats of the elephants at the park were restored, due to which the animals have now maintained their numbers. Hence, the park has not much to offer in terms of services or wildlife, other than the huge pride of elephants, which can be seen in any of Sri Lanka’s other national parks.
