About Ralam Glacier
Ralam Glacier lies in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. It is an important glacier and a famous trekking route. Munsiyari is the base of this trek. Ralam Glacier lies at the base of the Great Himalayan Wall, this glacier is divided into 2, Upper Ralam and Lower Ralam. Three other glaciers meet Ralam, they are, Kalabaland, Sutela and Yangchar.
The Ralam Trek from Munsiyari is about a 50Km trek and is not easy. One should keep aside 8-10 days for this trek. Maximum altitude for this trek is 3900m and important destinations on the way are, Lilam, Panton, Sapa-Odiyar and the Ralam village. From the Ralam village the glacier is about 15km.
Best time for trek is, from last week of April to last week of June and first week of September to first week of November.
