About Bahiri Cave
The trek to Bahiri Cave or Bahiri caves on a hilltop at a height of 2300 ft above mean sea level stands for hours and hours of pure adventure. It lies in the Karjat region of Raigad district in Maharashtra. While the ultimate destination reached is the Dhak Fort, it lies unvisited in solitude because most travelers prefer venturing into the Bahiri Caves, made of basalt, where religious happenings are cause of attraction.
The ascent, on the other hand, is famous as one of the most difficult, albeit treacherous treks in Maharashtra. Treks are more risky to undertake during monsoons, when the rocks become slippery. A good trekking package is recommended; it makes your work easier and leaves minute details in the hands of the experienced.
