Johari Bazaar , Jaipur
About Johari Bazaar
Quite aptly put, Johari Bazaar is a shopper's paradise in the Pink City. The city is one of the most important centres in the world for jewellery making and Johari Bazar (Johari itself translates to ‘jeweler’) is reputed as a prominent storehouse of precious and semiprecious stones. The narrow, bustling lanes are kaleidoscopic, with an array of bright colours all around. Traditional tie and dye fabrics and sarees are a specialty, apart from delicately created kundan and Minakari jewellery. This crowded market is chockfull of vendors, silversmiths and goldsmiths. The fervent charm of the market is sure to make one enjoy the experience. Shopping is almost irresistible here, as the vast assortment of textiles, jewellery, precious and semi precious stones are a reflection of the rich culture and art that has been passed from generation to generation in the vibrant state.
