Ananthagiri Hills or Anantgiri Hills situated in the dense forest regions of Telangana is popular weekend spot for people of Hyderebad. Musi River originates in this hill and flows towards Hyderabad. Ancient caves, remnants of forts and Anandha Padmaswamy Temple must be visited in Ananthagiri hills. Although there are not many places to see around Ananthagiri, it offers many trekking and camping opportunities and trekkers can have adventurous time here. The forest region around the Anandha Padmaswamy temple is not that dense and so first time trekkers can make their first trekking experience memorable. Andhra Tourism manages a resort in Ananthagiri Hill and so accommodation won’t be a trouble.
Ananthagiri Hills is 90 Kms from Hyderabad and 6 Kms from Vikarabad. One can easily book cabs to Anantagiri hills from Hyderabad. Vikarabad Junction Railway Station is the nearest railway station from Ananthagiri hills. Bike trip to Ananthagiri Hills is another popular activity for people of Hyderabad looking for an adventure road trip.
Best time to visit is winter months as summers can be hot although still much cooler compared to Hyderabad.
