About AP State Archaeological Museum
Andhra Pradesh State Archaeological Museum is the oldest of its kind in Hyderabad. The site where the museum building initially located was excavated in 1940 by the archaeologist Henry Cousens. Later the museum building was moved to the current location. The artifacts and items excavated are exhibited in the AP state Archaeological Museum. The most fascinating feature of the museum is the Egyptian mummy. Also, the Buddha Gallery of the museum houses the items which date back to last century. Many artifacts exhibited belong to Nizam of Hyderabad and Kakatiya Dynasty.
