About Bhagalpur
The city of Bhagalpur is situated in the state of Bihar and is known as the Silk City. From the time of epics Bhagalpur has been known as Bhagdattpuram’, which meant ‘the City of Good luck’. The origins of the city can be dated back to the 7th century and is visited by famous travelers like Fa-Hien and Hüan-Tsang. The city is the topographic location lies amidst the fertile Indo-Gangetic plains and is situated at the height of 141 feet above sea level.
