About Havelis
These are a selection of rich merchants, government officials, and royal subject’s houses. They’re all located within the city walls of the Fort of Jaisalmer. Architecturally, they’re dedicated in part to the Rajputana style, although looking closely, we can see evidence of Islamic style, amongst many others. There’s a number of a house, or Havelis, 5… of which 2 are open for public viewing. It’s recommended to seek a professional guide if you wish to get the maximum from this unique and highly recommended architectural experience.
