About Jama Masjid, Agra
One of the largest mosques of Agra, Jama Masjid was built as a credit to Shah Jahan’s beautiful daughter named Princess Jahanara Begum. Laid on the elevate podium, the mosque possess five fabulous entrances. The walls of the Masjid have sacred inscriptions and colored tiles. Central courtyard serves as a praying hall for thousands of Muslims for several centuries. Even now, every Friday, enormous Muslims come here for offering prayer. Thus it is also mentioned as “Friday Mosque”. It is located just opposite to Agra Fort.
