6: Day Udaipur & Mount Abu City Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 : Arrival in Jodhpur

  • Jodhpur Arrive at Jodhpur and meet the guide at Jodhpur Airport or Railway Station.Transfer to the hotel. Relax and enjoy personal activities. Clock Tower Market Visit the Clock tower, a popular landmark in the old city. The vibrant Sardar Market is close to the tower, and narrow alleys lead from here to a bazaar selling vegetables, spices, Indian sweets, textiles, silver and handicrafts. 
  • Accommodations : Overnight Stay in Jee Ri Haveli

Day 2 : Jodhpur Sightseeing

  • Mehrangarh Fort Visit Mehrangarh Fort, a 5 km long majestic fort on a 125 m high hill. It is one of the most impressive and formidable structures. Although invincible from the outside, the fort has four gates approached by a winding road. Within the fort are some magnificent palaces with marvelously carved panels, latticed windows, and evocative names like Moti Mahal, Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Sileh Khana, and Daulat Khana.
  • These Palaces house a fabulous collection of trappings of Indian royalty, including a superb collection of palanquins, elephant howdahs, miniature paintings of various schools, musical instruments, and costumes.
  • Then go to Jaswant Thada, an imposing white marble memorial that marks the site of the royal crematorium. It houses portraits of successive rulers. The four cenotaphs around here commemorate notable acts of bravery and generosity of the four successive rulers.
  • Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum Visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace, a fabulous building that is split between a museum and a 5-star hotel. The museum has a small collection of vintage cars attached, which is a treat to the eyes. Jodhpur Rest of time free for leisure.

Day 3 : Jodhpur to Mount Abu (260 KM/ 4 Hrs) En route, see the Ranakpur Temple.

  • Ranakpur Jain Temple: Begin your day with a drive to the magnificent Ranakpur Jain Temple. This architectural marvel features 1,444 intricately carved pillars, 24 pillared halls, and 80 domes supported by 400 columns, with no two pillars alike. Admire the five spires, each with a shrine underneath, and visit the Chaumukha Shrine, which houses a 6-foot-tall statue of Lord Adinath.
  • Dilwara Jain Temples: Continue to the famous Dilwara Temples, built in the 11th century and dedicated to the Jain Tirthankara. Made entirely of marble, the complex includes five small temples. Take a stroll and marvel at the intricate carvings, beautifully designed pillars, mandaps, arches, and ornate ceilings.
  • Nakki Lake: Head to Nakki Lake, a place surrounded by legends. One tale says the lake was created by gods to protect themselves from the demon Bashkali, while another story involves a sage, Rakshiya Balam, who dug the lake overnight to win a princess’s hand. Enjoy an enchanting evening boat ride on the serene waters of Nakki Lake.
  • Guru Shikhar: Visit Guru Shikhar, the highest peak of the Aravalli Range, standing at 1,722 meters. Located 15 km from Mount Abu, a scenic road leads almost to the top, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Day 4 : Mount Abu To Udaipur (160 KM/ 3 Hrs)

  • Brahma Kumari World Spiritual University: Visit the Brahma Kumaris, a spiritual movement founded by Lekhraj Kripalani in the 1930s in Hyderabad, Sindh. This organization is notable for its emphasis on female leadership and spiritual empowerment. Learn about the teachings and practices of this global movement that continues to inspire many.
  • Saheliyon Ki Bari: Explore Saheliyon Ki Bari, a beautiful garden located on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake. Built between 1710 and 1734 by Maharana Sangram Singh, it was created as a retreat for a group of forty-eight royal maidens. Enjoy the lush greenery, fountains, and exquisite marble structures in this peaceful haven.
  • Bagore Ki Haveli Museum & Folk Dance Show: Visit the historic Bagore Ki Haveli, an 18th-century mansion that has been transformed into a museum celebrating Mewar art and architecture. In the evening, experience the vibrant "Dharohar" folk dance show, where performers dressed in brightly colored traditional attire bring Rajasthani culture to life through a variety of captivating folk dances set to traditional music.

Day 5 : Udaipur Sightseeing

  • Jagmandir: Discover Jagmandir, the enchanting "Lake Garden Palace," situated on an island in Lake Pichola. Construction of this palace began in 1620 and concluded around 1652. It served as a summer retreat and venue for royal parties. The palace is also famous for having inspired Emperor Shah Jahan in his design of the Taj Mahal, after he sought refuge here during his rebellion against Emperor Jahangir.
  • Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace: Visit the breathtaking Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace, built in the 19th century by Maharana Sajjan Singh atop Bansdara Hill. Initially intended to be an astronomical observatory, the project was halted after the maharana’s untimely death. Today, this former monsoon palace and hunting lodge provides stunning panoramic views of Udaipur and the surrounding landscape.
  • Lake Pichola: Enjoy the serene beauty of Lake Pichola, named after the nearby village of Picholi. The lake features the picturesque islands of Jagniwas and Jagmandir, with the City Palace gracing its eastern banks. A sunset boat ride on the lake promises breathtaking views of the City Palace and the shimmering waters.
