About Jonha Falls
Jonha Falls rise mainly from the Ganga river and then the Raru river to go down a height of 141 feet. There is a tourist home just across the river which houses a temple of Lord Buddha, which is a very unique one indeed. Another interesting fact about this place is that, every Tuesday and Saturday, there’s a fair organized for people and is a lot of fun with family or friends. It is at a distance of 40 kms from Ranchi. This fall also has another name, the Gautam Dhara and the most convenient means of travel is through the train for this place, as the train ride is very pleasant. This is one fall, which is not recommended for old people, as there is a lot of walking to do.
Bear in mind, lot of steps (722 to be exact) need to be taken to reach the waterfall. The water in the river near the falls is very clean and you can see clearly the sand and rocks at the bottom in water.
