Khijadia Bird Sanctuary is situated at a distance of 15 kms from the city of Jamnagar and is spread over a vast area of 6 sq.km. The sanctuary has both freshwater and salt water marshlands, which are visited by avian fauna all round the year. You can find birds like threatened species such as Black-necked stork, Pallas’s fish eagle, Dalmatian pelican, Darter, Asian open bill stork, Eurasian spoonbill, Black-headed ibis, Indian skimmer, Osprey etc. Birdwatchers from all over the world visit this place for sightseeing rare migratory birds. The best time to visit is from September to march.
