About Rajwada
Rajwada is a Maratha and Mughal style city palace constructed by the Holkars of the Maratha empire in 1749. It is a royal monument in the heart of the city and is considered by many as the landmark of Indore. It suffered great damage during the 1984 riots and since then restoration work has been undertaken to preserve this historical icon. The area is quite buzzing, because of the nearby wholesale market and a variety of shops and eating establishments.
